“Music is not a product ... it is a state of being.” - MKDVB
Throughout history, music has always been a moment in time which required some effort to make happen, not the convenient commodity it is today. In a way, random Youtube gear videos go back to the pure roots of music -- as exploration, as expression, as existence.
In a genre where every song can be programmed, edited, even written by machine, live synth jams inject a spontaneous human feel and I've come to view them as their own thing -- not inferior to traditional songs, just different. I've found these synth jams to have their own immediacy, character and beauty reminiscent of the Zen one-stroke paintings.
Beyond that, Youtube offers a direct connection and immediate, lasting feedback between artist and audience in a way that was never possible before. I know the old way of music doesn't work. Perhaps this is the path forward. Most of my Youtube synth jams are unreleased and as of now, can only be found on Youtube so subscribe to my channel to catch future releases!
I believe in music as spirituality but sometimes wonder if there's a place for that in today's world. I appreciate all of your support on this journey together!
